Chain Driven Live Roller (CDLR)

Close-up of CDLR conveyor showing drive chain and roller interaction with guard removed

Chain Driven Live Roller conveyor systems are a durable, high-capacity option for heavy-duty material handling. Two separate chains mechanically link each roller to the next, forming a roll-to-roll drive system that delivers positive traction and synchronized movement. As a result, these systems provide consistent motion, increased reliability, and longer equipment life.

This rugged design excels in continuous-use environments—especially where uptime and load control are critical. For example, CDLR systems are ideal for handling pallets, skids, and other unitized goods in manufacturing and warehouse applications.

What makes Chain Driven Live Rollers Unique?

Drive Strength & System Longevity

Webb-Stiles CDLR conveyors are engineered for demanding applications. The dual-chain roll-to-roll connection increases drive strength and reduces slippage. As a result, the system delivers consistent power—even under heavy loads or in nonstop operations.

Sized and Spaced to Fit the Job

Webb-Stiles CDLR conveyors can be tailored to your specific load weight, spacing, and system layout. Roller diameters range from 1⅞″ to 3½″, with standard center spacings from 4½″ to 12″—and options as tight as 3¾″. Additionally, frames are available in structural or formed steel to match your required duty cycle.

Custom Integration Options

CDLR systems from Webb-Stiles easily integrate with auxiliary handling equipment like turntables, pallet dispensers, chain transfers, lifts, and bolsters. In addition, we build custom control panels in-house—whether electronic, hydraulic, or pneumatic—to ensure your system operates as one seamless solution.
